The Quiet before the Storm Empty
PostSubject: The Quiet before the Storm   The Quiet before the Storm EmptyThu Feb 21, 2013 6:43 am

Shifting the flap for Lexi's glass blowing tent to the side, Morgana stepped out and back into the general dinn of the marketplace. It had impossibly become almost as familer as the biting rush of wind, and the distant call of the falcon as it soured on the thermals. Cerulean eyes, with beryl highlights skipped across face, after face, after face, of people she still hadn't had the opportunity to speak to. Face after face of individuals who had been put under her leadership, and a platoon of soldiers at her command to pass out her judgements as she made them. It was easy to see how the power could go to someones head.

'Please don't let me fail them.'
She silently begged the Fates or what ever other benevolent being might be listening. Realistically she could use all the help she could get.

Tugging the hood of her rather modern sweatshirt up to cover her hair and cowl her features, she shoved her hands in her pockets and slipped into the shadows. Taking ally-ways back toward the keep, having nothing new to offer the innumerable inquisitive glances she knew she would receive. Had been receiving.

Once out of sight of the general public she palmed a knife even before pulling out and igniting a cigarette. The burn of the smoke was a welcome distraction, and she for the thousandth time began running scenarios through her mind. Things that had happened, peopled they'd lost...

...People she'd lost.

In what seemed like perpetual vain she sought for answers that hadn't yet surfaced. Connections that no one had made, details and secrets; really anything that would give them another leg up. Missteps made by her nemisis would have been very convenient to exploit. The problem was there were just too damn few on Akira's end, and more then she could afford on her own. Sure it was all well and good to excuse it with her lack of experience, but that wouldn't make anyone less dead.

The sound of violent hurling was clear enough from around the corner of the building that you were fast approaching. Quick gulps of breath could be noticed in between each sound of whoever it was loosing the contents of their stomach in what appeared to be a less than pleasant fashion. Was there ever really a pleasant fashion for something like this ? When you might have quickened your step, there was the brush of air behind you, the sound of feet quietly hitting the ground even as arms came up and around to pull you back against a chest that was swiftly growing ever more familiar. Lips dropped to brush a near silent word against the shell of your ear, one that was half calming and half a plea for you to remain silent. Lacking the more than human body heat that was a clear trademark of the third part to your trivium, the scent of winter and jagged glass. Of twisting midnight and cool silk rolled over you like a veritable caress even as his breath feathered your ear. What seemed to be lacking as well was the usual drape of his obscenely long hair, a skein that on any other Male would have looked Feminine, but whereas upon him looked...Well it was what many might call one of the more delightful parts of his appeal.

Were you to turn around to look up at him, he wore what could only be described as a roguish smile, one that if you knew how to look passed the forefront was filled with a hint of the young boy he might have once been. At least the hopeful part as he looked you over from behind a noticeably shorter crop of locks. Still that seemingly living purple that was always whispering on it's own sort of life, it held a distressingly shaggy look. Longer still than Quinn's, it held the look as if he had just rolled from a rather rough and tumble bout in some dark corner. His torso completely bared, the jeans he wore had obviously seen better days. Riding low on his hips, the flash of what could only be cold silver flashed in his navel as bare feet kept him perfectly balanced upon the cobblestone path. Mercurial gaze was intense, as ever it was, though even with that hint of something more there, you could still tell he was ready for nigh on anything, his focus while heavily on you still keeping well aware of the entirety of your surroundings, up to and specifically including whoever was still retching just out of sight.

The Quiet before the Storm Empty

How was it people kept catching her by surprise? By now she was surprised she hadn't actually sprouted eyes in the back of her head. With every new shadow hiding an assassin, or just a new enemy that wanted to make things more complicated. For funsies. Bastards. Still the concerned train of thought was derailed as he spun her around and captured her gaze with his own. The corner of her mouth lifting into a smirk that was pleased despite everything else.

Stopping herself short of pressing close to him, her eyes lifted to dance along the shortened strands of his hair. Fingertips brushed the playfully jagged tips, tugging lightly as she nodded in approval. Keeping to his request for silence, though the otherwise sweet moment kept getting interrupted by the loss of someones lunch. Turning again in his arms, she gave the corner a concerned look. Was it wrong of her to hope it was food poisoning? That at least was a quick fix. Slipping regretfully from his arms she moved closer, giving enough birth to the corner that she didn't get her shoes unintentionally ruined in the process. Also conveniently out of arms reach if it was all a ruse.

There was a certain bitter amusement that echoed in her expression as she peered around the corner, mostly at the fact that her's were the sort of circumstances where that could be a very real possibility. That the victim of what seemed to be a very simple case of nausea, was probably a plant to distract them from the newest round of would be assassins. She was going to start keeping a tally. It occurred to her a moment before the figure came into sight, that she might have just accidentally figured out where Alexander had gotten off to.

Ew. Just... ew.

Okay, so you hadn't stabbed him which meant things were definitely looking up in his perspective. Truth be told, he hadn't noticed the blade until after you'd turned to look up at him, so if you had, it would have been what he rightfully deserved, sneaking up on you the way he had. Then again, it wasn't cold iron you were carrying so technically the worst that would happen would be he'd end up a bit sliced and diced. Okay, worst that would happen would be you blaming yourself for being reactionary when the occurrences as of late were more than enough to explain your paranoia.

Your obvious approval did earn you a deepening of that roguish grin, though it faded briefly for a moment when you pulled away. Regrettably, even as kinky as he might be, the sounds coming in your direction were enough to dampen even his libido, so after a quick, but more than searing kiss, he was little more than your shadow as you moved to view the cause of your interruptions. Quiet. Efficient and deadly, he was a presence at your back that he was striving day in and day out to prove would be there as often as he was capable. A mental note was made within that constantly shifting brain of his to buy a leash and cowbell for your third, the idea of trying to get the Garou to wear them without taking his head off amusing beyond all believe.

A hand did fall lightly on your shoulder suddenly, guiding you just the slightest hair further over as an impressively well ranged projectile spew would have otherwise met with your shoe. Indeed it was the young Garou turned....Turned something that had so quickly departed from yours and Lexi's presence earlier. The large voluminous cowl that was usually raised lay back against his shoulder as his tall, rather well proportioned frame half sat, half sprawled on this out of the way path. Usually healthy skin was still a distressing shade of puce, though less so now than when he had first vanished. Taking one look at the younger Male's surrounding's, Silvan stifled a curse and the area was suddenly clean, what looked like fresh cobblestone in place in as much time as it took to blink once, maybe twice. A still sealed bottle of pure water was pressed gently into your hand, a soft kiss laid upon your temple before he moved to lean against the opposite wall, obviously intending to be your watch tower as you attempted to figure out just what was going on.

It was a good that she had started to recognize her motley by simple feel of their presence. The roll of their energy as it tickled against her skin, or in the case of some like her wolf, it took occasion to sizzle. Her overly absent wolf, as always when thinking of him she bid the Fates to see him returned to her side, and Silvins.

Making a mental note to comment on his change of hair, she turned her attentions to Alexander who seemed to suddenly find himself in dire straights. Moving around him, once the way had been cleared, she knelt at his side her hand brushing strands of his mane from his eyes. Her other hand producing and offering a previously pocketed bottle of water. "What happened Alexander? Are you alright?"
